About the Recipe
While England has their "Strawberries & Heavy Cream" tradition, our household celebrates with our own version. Real delicious Vanilla Bean or Butter Pecan ice cream surrounded by small bites of pound cake and quartered strawberries topped with Real whipped cream. We only do it this way once a year, Championship Sunday at Wimbledon and usually during the 3rd set. Born in 1932 and 1933 respectively, this was a delicious treat at an unusual time of day annually for my Father and Mother which we continue to enjoy.
You will need:
· 1 scoop of Vanilla Bean or Butter Pecan ice cream
· 5-6 strawberries (quartered)
· 4-5 small pieces of pound cake (apprx. 1")
· Real Whipped Cream
· Add all the ingredients together. You can really add as much or as little of whatever you want!
